Electronic devices need not to be trashed right away once it has already served its purpose.

An artist featured by website Sustain 4 Ability.com repurposed an old circuit board into something decorative. “If you’re the kind of person who holds on their old electronic devices even if they’re good as dead, this is definitely for you. Extend the Life

IT Reseller World meantime featured a story on a shop that does not aim to re-purpose electronics right away, but rather to extend the life of these devices that no longer seem useful to their owners.

“A new IT asset disposition company led by veterans with over 30 years of experience in the industry, today announced the opening of its Electronics Repurposing Center in Columbus, Ohio. Sage’s mission is to make the world more sustainable by creating longer life for used electronics.”

A woman who was eyeing to recycle her apple computer should have taken the cue from Sage electronics and should just “tried to extend the life and purpose of her electronic device.American Solar Energy Society

Website BoingBoing.Net featured the story of the woman who dropped off a rare MAC Collectible that could have fetched her thousands of dollars. “An unknown woman dropped off boxes of electronics at a Silicon Valley recycler apparently not realizing that inside was an original Apple I computer. The recycling company, Clean Bay Area, sold the machine for $200,000 to a private collector and is offering half the cash to the woman if she shows up. The company’s vice president who took the boxes says he’ll recognize her immediately.”
